What are the Best Touch-Up Paint Products for Metal Roofing Scratches?

What are the best types of touch-up paint products for metal roofing, when should you use touch-up paint, and how do you apply it correctly?

A metal roofing contractor should do everything possible to minimize the opportunity to scratch the metal before, during, and after installation, but unfortunately, scratches can happen. If the scratch is small enough and doesn’t gouge the metal substrate itself, touch-up paint can be used.

In this episode of the Standing Seam Metal Roofing Accessories Series, Thad Barnette discusses when you should and shouldn’t use touch-up paint, what types of products are available on the market (such as paint pens and spray paint cans), and how to apply touch-up paint effectively.

You should ONLY use paint specifically designed for air-dry metal roofing applications.

Please note the installation methods shown in this video are for reference only. Sheffield Metals recommends following the manufacturer’s instructions for installation. Areas utilizing touch-up paint are not covered by the manufacturer’s paint warranty.
